Abertysswg Primary School is a Community School accommodating 3 - 11 year old pupils living within the Abertysswg area. Occasionally, children from outside the area, are also admitted to the school. Children are admitted to school during the term folowing their third birthday.

The school aims to provide a caring environment and a wide range of balanced learning opportunities which will help pupils grow into independent and responsible members of society.

The most recent Inspection Report referred to the school as, "a warm, happy and caring community."
